About Us
As
an affiliate of the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, the
Maywood Middle School PTSA provides parents and families with a powerful voice to
speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for
parents to help their children be successful students.
Maywood PTSA is a private, non-profit organization with members dedicated to the service of the students, parents and staff of Maywood Middle School. Membership in our PTSA supports many programs and events that benefit the Maywood community. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your donations to PTSA are tax deductible.
Our Mission:
Support the mission of WA State PTA
- Achieve 100% Membership
- Provide opportunities for well trained leaders
- Apply “Best Practices” to our operation as defined by the WA Sate PTA
Engage our Children Academically
- Provide Support for MMS Students
- Provide MMS with financial support to excite children in learning
Build a Strong and Supportive Community
- Provide parent volunteer support for MMS teachers, staff and programs
- Recognize our amazing staff with Staff Appreciation activities
Communicate
- Maintain a MMS PTSA Website
- Send newsletters and updates via email
- Keep parents informed and mobilized on legislation and issues that affect our schools
Outreach
- Promote and Support the Issaquah Schools Foundation (ISF)
- Provide Support to Issaquah School District
- Support student humanitarian efforts
How we are organized:
All
who join Maywood PTSA are part of our general membership. Officers, who make up our
Executive Committee, are elected by the general membership in the spring to serve for
the following school year. Committee Chairs are appointed by
the president with approval of the executive committee. The Board of Directors consists
of elected officers and appointed standing committee chairpersons.
