FOOD/SUPPLY DONATIONS NEEDED
TIGER MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL
January 9th - 31st

Beginning January 9th, Maywood PTSA will be collecting food items and other supplies for teenagers at Tiger Mountain Community High School.  Many students at this school do not have regular access to adequate amounts food and are coming to school hungry, which affects their learning.  Donations will be accepted in the Maywood school office through the end of January, but Tiger Mountain will accept them all year long.  If you have any questions, please contact Judy Walters, Leslie Kahler or Tina Waters.

Items Needed:                                                                        

  • Gift cards to local grocery store, Target or Costco
  • Breakfast and granola bars
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Coffee (ground for drip coffee maker)
  • Instant cocoa & cider
  • Tea
  • Peanut butter, jam, Nutella etc…
  • Maple syrup
  • Instant noodles in a cup
  • Soup that can be microwaved in container
  • Healthy drinks (water, vitamin drinks. crystal light etc… No soda or energy drinks please)
  • Chips and crackers
  • Nuts and trail mix
  • Dried mango and fruit leather
  • Disposable plates, bowls, cups & utensils
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Body soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste etc…
  • NEW socks and undies (Small-XL) for men or women

PTSA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
January 24th, 2012

PTSA General Membership Meetings are held only three times during the school year. All business of the PTSA is conducted at these meetings, so it is very important that our members attend. These meetings start at 6:30 pm in the school library

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS:
We are in dire need of volunteers. Last year at this time we had 269 volunteers signed up to help with various activities for the school and PTSA; this year we only have 45 signed up. If you have not taken the time, please take a minute and fill out the volunteer forms for the school and PTSA (http://www.maywoodptsa.org/Contact_Us.html). If you do not want to commit to a particular area, just mark 'miscellaneous' and we will contact on a needs basIs.

It is the mission of the Maywood PTSA to engage our students academically and to build a strong and supportive community.

MAYWOOD PTSA GOALS
1) To achieve 100% Membership

2) To improve/increase parent participation in PTSA sponsored programs and events

3) To reduce the use of paper by sending our information packet electronically and making it available on the Maywood PTSA website

4) To maintain a consistent number of Walk About volunteers throughout the school year

5) Increase “Pass the Hat” fundraising participation to offset the need for additional fundraising

students, parents and staff of

in our PTSA supports many programs
